Das Racist

I don’t know much about this Brooklyn group Das Racist, but I do know they recently released this single:

Its worth mentioning. I think I like it the same way I like A Tribe Called Quest, if that means anything to you.
I looked into some of their earlier stuff, and it has nothing to do with Jazz, more TR-808 sample music. But its also good.

Great band interview on Our Show.

Air, who needs it?

It snowed last night.
It's fallen off the trees now but remains on the ground. Winter is coming; it may be here already. The air changed last week, that subtle change which makes you breath differently. Air is a music duo from Versailles, France.

Some say Air is a necessity to survive. I think thats a bit extreme, but I have began to hallucinate and black out during long absences of their really wonderful music.

Like any conversation about bands, favorite albums are always mentioned when talking about Air. It bothers me how few ever mention the AIRities box set. I mean talk about an excellent collection of remixes and rare originals. There is a reason for the name to be a pun off “rarities” though; As some of the tracks do require a unique type of personal taste to enjoy. But a manny others are just fantastic little gems forgotten in the labyrinth of the Air discography.

Here are my personal selections, I think you’ll enjoy them.
You also might not.
Either way, its worth a listen if your into Air; and who are we kidding, everyone is into air. Its really no good at all to be out of air.

Air - Sexy Boy (Etienne de Crecy & The Flower Pistols Remix)
Air - Cosmic Bird (With Jean-Jacques Perrey)
Air - Highschool Prom (Playground Love - Rob Remix)
Air - Cherry Blossom Girl (Hope Sandoval Version)

A Post.

Hello, Hi.
Im thinking about all the clever introductions I should write for you... nothing is really coming to me. So I’ll just get to the basics then build.
Im Hans-David. You can call me David, Hans works too.
Im a college student thats currently taking leave on Lopez Island to work on some things that actually matter, one being this blog.
You see, I love to fish the pulsating river of sound which flows inside the digital circulatory system of the web. And finally, I’ve have all the time to do just that. And let me tell you, I’ve been catching some big ones. This blog serves as a way for me to talk about all the fishing expeditions.
Im not going to make any effort to define or restrain the genres this blog will be posting. Nor will I be restricting myself to playing only the most recent tracks to avoid seeming un-hip. This is not a News Station posting only the freshest stories with a mass appeal. This is my True Wheel, my central shaft of audiosyncratic quality, and it is here to let you take advantage of my lack of craft.
This is Bad Like Yaz.
